I give up on dating

Even though you try not to take it personal, it’s hard. It’s hard when men are simply not nice and treat you like shit. The guys that expect you to put out on a third date. The relationships I had been in weren’t the best for my self-esteem. Then you read this letter by Emily Bracken posted on Medium and reposted on Huff Po. I’m around the corner, down the street, on Facebook, in your office, at our local coffee shop, a complete stranger. In the meantime, which of the things on Emily’s list will you admit to?

It’s astonishingly self-aware, and is the kind of letter I wish I received more, instead of the one blaming men for all the ills of the world.

Our generation has a pretty hard time dating, and one thing I hear constantly is how guys ruin it.

I have been in two relationships during the past year so I didn’t have to deal with dating scene that much. You feel like nothing more than a piece of ass sometimes and it honestly hurts your soul.

Flash forward some several years, and I’m in college, about to embark on the longest relationship that I have had to date.

The man in question is a spoilt Slovakian jerk, and this is revealed in a horrifying manner to me, when a mutual friend is sent to hospital because of the violence on the football field thanks to my dear beau.
